We typically recommend the Midlength unless you have board sports experience, are younger than 60 years old, and weigh less than 90 kg / 200 lbs. The Midlength has more volume (20 more liters than the Shortboard) making it more stable on the water and easier to stand up on. 

 

It is also important to consider who will be using the board. Many riders like to share the experience with family and friends, in which case we also recommend the Midlength since many beginners will be using the board.

 

Performance wise, the Shortboard offers a more sporty, agile option for deep carving and rail-to-rail performance. The Midlength offers a more flowy ride. Both are very fun. Both are easy to learn and a never-ending challenge to improve on, similar to classic surfboards.

Yes. Custom boards range from $5k to $15k more than a Canvas board. Lead times are 2-4 months depending on custom requirements.

 

You can customize the design, shape and size of your own unique board. We have made over 30 custom boards, including wood boards, resin art boards, printed art boards, long boards, high performance shortboards and more.

All LIND boards are manufactured and shipped from the LIND Headquarters in Stockholm, Sweden.

The boards cost a lot to make. From a product design, engineering and manufacturing standpoint, they are much more similar to a boat than a surfboard.

A typical boat outboard motor and battery with similar specs to LIND costs $20k+ USD and is at least 3x larger than a LIND setup. And that price doesn't include the boat you'd need to attach your outboard motor and battery to.

Unlike boats, we custom designed LIND boards from scratch and therefore we can't rely on the supply chains and economies of scale that mass-produced boats, jet skis, planes, trains, and automobiles benefit from. For example, only a few hundred LIND motors have ever existed, all hand built in Stockholm, Sweden... compared to millions of jetski motors built every year by assembly lines across the world.

The reality is that we designed a product that no one on our own team can afford. Our goal has never been to create an expensive product, it has always been to create the most premium electric surfboard that has ever existed and cut as few corners as possible in doing so.
